Davie and the Racial Harmony message

  • Jul. 18th, 2006 at 10:14 AM
Steven Page jumpy!

There was darkness, there was light
There was day, there was night
There was wrong, there was right
and then there was me...

You didn't even know me but you treated me like dirt
You didn't even know me but you called me a jerk
and then there was me...

I'm from a planet near a star you wouldn't know, it's very far
They're calling me the man from Mars and I think
They're insulting me...

They try to take my special suit
They say my head looks like fruit
What is fruit? - put your hands up or i'll shoot!

I don't have hands
Across the galaxy I flew- heard a peaceful message sent by you
Now I find you're judged by colour and size
I can't believe what you call my

Eyes the guy who sailed the sky and I think i'd like to live here
Like to share your mountains, share your trees and share your rivers
I've never seen so many beings of so many colours
I'd like one day for you to say I can call you brother

I'd like to learn about your pizza and your weather
and we can learn about how beings live together
and then there was we...

So if you're thinking about being a spaceman it doesn't matter if you're black or white
...or purple or green or blue or
...red or yellow with polka dots on your head
...or made of snow or made of wheat
...or lookin' like something that's kind of a tree

Racial Harmony - that's what it's all about folks!
...or maybe I just like the song

Davie and the hypothetical question...

Mulder with his Shades!

I wonder...
What would happen if you took my favourite actor, David Duchovny

...and put him in my favourite band, The Barenaked Ladies

I imagine it would be something like this )

My Julian Opie pic
So yesterday was a random exercise day for me yesterday because after practising driving (on the drive) I thought I'd go for a cycle... and that I did. Unfortunately for those who have been to my house, you'll know that the road is quite steep in pretty much any direction so I didn't exactly cycle very far (a little bit further than Nozzers house).

However it wasn't long before I found myself in a completely opposite situation... sitting in Starbucks stealing peoples drinks... Don't get me wrong... I didn't intentionally steal someone else's drink... .my drink was served first so I went to grab one of the comfy sofas (somebody else had already got there before us!) so I sat down at a table and needless to say my drink tasted a little odd. It was then when Fran ([info]pruniepie) came round and was like "You just stole some woman's drink"

To my non-surprise... the drink I had taken was bigger than what I ordered and wasn't creme based. (The woman who's frappé I stole then went and sat on the sofas!)

Barenaked Ladies also released their brand new EP and pre release for their new album "Barenaked Ladies Are Me" which of course, I got my dirty little mitts on. Initially (and before they released the single) they released it in four separate parts:- Vocals, Guitars, Drums and Bass so you could mix and match to make your own song for general fun-ness. The new single "Easy" can be download here off my web-space (Right Click- Save Link As.. you know how it works) for your own enjoyment. (4.13mb)

I know what you're thinking!

Who the hell is this guy!? What's he doing on my friends list? Well... I'm sorry if you've forgotten me but it's me!!! Davie!!!??? I know... I've been gone a long time but I thought I'd give this baby an update (so there's a baby in there? Horrible excuse to steal Futurama quote!)... and seeing as we've been dancing like Steven Page I thought it was only right if I taught everyone else how to dance!

Step 1: Start by clapping your hands together whilst jumping up and down in the air (to clap ones hands... simply bring them together with incredible force... this will make a clapping sound!)

Step 2: Start striding up and down the stage/room/corridor (or wherever you may be)

Step 3: Mix this with Step 1 every so often

Remember! Keep those legs high!

Step 4: Finish off the dance with a jump in the air (you can also incorporate the thrust action if this option is available!)

For those who can't follow the steps clearly then I made this little gif for you to follow (whee!)

I Spy Davie, With My Little Eye...

Haha... because I just watched The Barenaked Ladies Movie: Barenaked In America I thought I'd start off with...

Steven Page looks at a French Horn in confusion/amusement... I can't tell which!

Well, exams finished today (Woot!) Ok Ok... so I only had two but to be fair... they were nastily spread out so I had a lot of time to panic and be scared however I shall not dwell because everyone hates talking about exams and ugh... all that jazz. (If you want to ask me personally then i'd be more than happy to ramble on about it!)

Instead... erm... I guess I'll give you some of the highlights of the our 'I Spy' game me and Renno had on the way down to the bus stop:

Renno's turn number one:
Renno: I Spy with my little eye... something beginning with hmmm... H
Davie: Is it over there *points into distance*
Renno: Yeah..
Davie: Ok...
Renno: It's really far away and it's green
Davie: Renno... I'm short sighted and colour blind!

(Turned out it was Homebase )

Davie's turn number one:
Davie: Ok Ok... I Spy with my little eye something beginning with... W
Renno: (thinks and fails to guess)
(At least 5 minutes pass)
Davie: (Now throwing out clues) They're all around us! (walks past car) *in excited voice* We've just passed one!!! (points at houses) *still in excited voice* they're all over that house!
(Another 5 minutes passes)
Renno: Is it a... window?

Well, that was an incredibly random game I'll tell you that but what else were we meant to do on the long walk down? Nothing I tell you... nothing!

Have you heard the one about the boy who moved into the henhouse to sleep? He woke up with egg on his face when he found out all the hens had crossed the street!

Talk about hens... and Barenaked Ladies. I'll have to catch Chicken Little for some random reasons that [info]axeman2002 imposed. Because BNL have a song in there (one which we couldn't manage to watch because Quicktime and Media Player mess up) and because Adam West is in it as Ace. Question is... who will come see it with me?

Was your iPod in your bag when it was stolen out of your car?
Asked by JJ and answered by Steve on Saturday, November 5
Yes, do you have it?

Poor poor Steven Page and his stolen iPod... if the other Steve ever get's his MP3 Player I can give you my old iPod Shuffle! Hurrah. ...and that's a promise if you ever read this!

More importantly... today... has been fairly random... but Monday is always pretty random because we only have two lessons (one with the Gee-meister!)

*looks at palm*

Oh yeah... we were sat in Maths (5th period) when Mark looks at me and [info]totally49 and asks 'Why do we have to read from Samuel Peppies diary'? Silly Mark! for not knowing who Samuel Pepys is! and mispronouncing his name! (But don't ask why we were doing this in Maths)

Names to add on the list of possible children: Russell and Gordon

Thanks for this image

...and thanks for making Apollo happy!

It's Ed's Birthday! (35)

Here's what he had to say for himself

Millions of Canadians will be gathered together around the dinner table tonight saying a special little prayer, and just generally giving thanks for my very existence. It’s sort of like Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Hallowe’en… but it’s all about me.

I'd prepare a soup that's made with monkey... BAD

If you dont wish him a happy birthday then a pox on you!

My day, not yours!

First off... Barenaked Ladies standing next to my favourite president... Bill!
(I took that photo you know!... I also lie!)

...and for stuff that isn't completely irrelevant (or however spelt!) I thought i'd give you the basic update. Yesterday was pretty funky! and although we only had one lesson last thing I always manage to end up feeling really tired! (weird, but that's monday for ya!)

Today however was your typical day. First two periods were free because none of the teachers were there (however we were forced to stay in the room! :o shock shock!). Then third period was free as usual where we watched Tonks and Matt play video games woo and then we went to lunch.... Yadda Yadda Yadda

Basically, it was a mission success!

Enclosed is a picture of Steve the pirate (a.k.a Alan Tudyk) dedicated to [info]totally49
Hello. My name is David Pursglove and I'm a graduate and a professional Englishman living in Florida. I've been blogging on and off since 2004 when I was just a wee nipper in Secondary School. It's not all rubbish so I hope you find something you enjoy ^_^. Thanks for visiting.
