This is my second Thanksgiving holiday that I've been able to celebrate and I have a lot to be thankful for. This time last year I posted very little about Thanksgiving besides a few days before when I got to go out with Vince to eat Cici's before watching Quantum of Solace at the cinema- hopefully he'll stop on by today after he's had his thanksgiving dinner for a little bit more eating! I love this holiday... you can eat and eat and nobody complains. (That being said- nobody complains anyway when I eat and eat to my hearts content, very rarely does that happen ^_^ )
Also, this is going to be my first thanksgiving being engaged and that's already an exciting prospect. I'm very lucky to have found Katherine and I know we'll always look out for each other :) I'm also terribly excited to start blogging about our trials and tribulations as well as all the marvellous and wonderful adventures we'll have together. (I wish I could have tried to capture all the wondrous times we've had to date- like our encounter with Topol!!) I have the most remarkable woman in my life and I just can't wait! *excited face*
This year I can't help but have the biggest smile on my face when I walk downstairs and see Misty chasing all the other dogs on "The Dog Show"... I think it was my Dad that thought the dog how to chase other animals whenever adverts would come on English tv during Eastenders, Coronation Street, Saturday Night Takeaway and that whole lot! He'd say with excitement "What's on tv?!" and eventually she caught on to what the actual tv is. Now whenever anyone mentions the word "TV" she'll go insane and look for the nearest television set even if it's on or off. Once this day is over I can finally look forward to thinking about Christmas- I get really excited whenever I see adverts for sales or holiday special episodes of television shows that I know it's edging closer. One of more snazzy things about the Christmas holidays is there are plenty of opportunities for Seasonal jobs! Michael (Katherine's brother) coined the term for our proposal "Phase 1" and ever since Katherine told me it's stuck with us... I'm applying around for Seasonal jobs and working extra hours at my current job so that we can earn more money to reach our phases and goals.
Now off to help thanksgiving processes and to listen to Ronan's Christmas album. :)

Me and Mark even went on the carousel that they had in the centre of town! (Everyone else was too chicken! But we didn't care, we got some manly horses called Nightshade and such! Ruff Ruff Ruff!)
So, if you really wanted to know, here's the lowdown on how cool my friends are! Souter Mouter bought me a Star Wars Episode IV Poster so now I can make Chewbacca noises whenever I see this beast on my wall! Unfortunately however, Souter did not come into town with us and I couldn't buy him a present in return :'( (Well, I will definately buy him one! but he prolly won't get it until after New Year!)
Following the cool poster tradition, The K-man got me the famous Jessica Alba Sin City poster that we tease him for having! I'm sure it's probably won't be Chewbacca noises i'll be making when I see this on my wall! *Rowr!* And for the K-man, me and Steve combined forces and got him the Sin City Board Game! (That was the end of the Sin City love-fest for us!)
Stee went all cool on me and got me Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 1 which i've been trying to lay my hands on for a good long time! The episodes that I have watched so far are like the love child of Seinfeld/A Hanheld Video Recorder! And in return, I bought Stee Wallace and Gromit (3 Cracking Adventures!) and Jimmy Eat World - Believe in What You Want on DVD (I have no idea if that is also an album! I have no Jimmy Eat World hardcore experience!)
As we walked into Waterstones I start complaining to Mark and Steve about how they never have the Bruce Campbell
Lastly, Kev being as rockin' as he is, bought me the uber cool Dire Straits - The Very Best Of... DVD (which is on in the background right now, Money For Nothing! EDIT: Nope, Brothers In Arms has just come on now! My VERY VERY VERY Favourite track!). Hoping he hadn't already got it, I bought him Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast DVD (and thankfully he hadn't!) to appease his Eddy love!
Unfortunately though, like Mark, I couldn't help buying myself a little something and with only a random look from the guy at the counter I bought a copy of The Notebook!
So thanks all of you for your crimbo pressies! and our fun exchanging of them in the car (after all the panicking and screaming from the boot/trunk being open!) and I hope you enjoy yours!
The second half of the night/morning was spent over at Han's house alongside the few of us that went into town (Steve, Mark, Kev and K) aswell as Han (it was her house, duh!), Heidi, Harriet and Ruth (who came later on in the night) For a good hour of the night, Me, K, Steve, Han & Heidi had to make do with random christmas songs whilst the rest went to find food! (and Ribena!) By the time they got back we were ready to start our Monopoly game that lasted until 3am in the morning! (Me and Mark were bankers! woot!) I'm sure the game would have lasted longer but unfortunately Mark, Ruth and I knew we were beat so we stood down like gentlemen and woman!

Everyone who knows me knows about my 'Christmas Singing Dog'! he's happy, he's white, he's been with me for two whole years and sings two merry christmas songs. Unfortunately disaster struck when I was brought him to liven up the study room this christmas!
The History of the Christmas Singing Dog
Ok, so a couple of years back, sometime around christmas (obviously) my nan passed away, she was the owner of the christmas singing dog! now nobody in my family wanted it so I decided 'Sigh... i'll take in the Christmas Singing Dog and he can live in my bedroom!' Ever since he has been there to sing, do impressions of chinese karate trainers.
However, history was about to change... when Me, Steve and Mark headed down the street to get lunch. When we got back we we're all in horror to find out that he wasn't as talkative as usual and we presumed that he was just 'out of batteries' and accepted it as his time to recharge. It turned out, as a matter of fact that he wasn't low on batteries but had been tampered with and destroyed, beyond repair, broken, cureless, hopeless, impossible, incorrigible, incurable, irrecoverable, irredeemable, irremediable, irremedial, irreplaceable, irretrievable, irreversible, ruined, uncorrectable and unrecoverable. (I really don't get it, why would any do it? I mean, if they didn't want the dog to sing anymore why couldn't they just tell me? or stop pressing the bleedin' button!)
We did figure out who did it, it was to all our surprise... Debbie, she had told us that she had done it and threatened to throw it out of the window for some f*$%*^£ reason or another! (Once again, I have no idea why she did it, maybe just to spite me or whatnot but either way, to be fair, we did half expect someone to have a go at him)
Luckily!!! Kev agreed to find a screwdriver and fix him, we we're not sure if it was too late and we had already planned saying goodbye to the poor fella'. After a good 5/10 of fixing and such he started to sing again! (well, when you pressed the button!) and we placed him back under the tree whilst she just continued to curse about throwing him out again.
Although we did get him fixed... and at the end of the day it was only a singing christmas dog :P I was still a little angry and more upset (than anything) that she would do such a thing.
Meh?
