New Year would usually see myself and Steve (totally49) watching various TV shows and playing video games until the New Year passed when we would look at each other 5 minutes late and say 'oh yeah I forgot... Happy New Year'... (with the exception of the time we went to Souter's for new year and watched Ian pwn on Dance Dance Revolution) Being a gazillion miles away means that isn't gonna happen this year so I apologise in advance if I don't turn up at your door.

Anyways I was in the shower trying to think of a a few 'best of's' I could put on here that really defined 2007... I couldn't really think of many so maybe I'll have another shower and think of some more.

I apologise in advance for the blurryness of pictures... only those which I take outside do not come out blurry (and the only pictures I took of that are outside are ones of Luke and Lewis (lew_v1) at the train station!

Anyway as Luke was coming back from University he decided to postpone our regular cinema trip which would occur on Friday to Saturday... alas... a very dull and java related Friday I had! (I did do laundry though!!! )

Nevertheless I met up with the previously mentioned along with Kinnear, Steve (totally49) and Ian! We travelled afar to Centertainment by means of tram where we chilled in the cinema bar for a bit drinking Coca Cola and various other beverages (Luke spilling his in a horrible table knocking incident). The funny anecdote of the day would happen to be when Ian saw the flashing button on a games machine... upon further inspection he pressed the collect button and out popped thirty two quid in glorious pound coins! Although... promises drinks and dance dancing were never recieved!

Eventually we ended up seeing Death at a Funeral which was good... although perhaps Ian and Kinnear enjoyed it far more than they should have! I slid down in my seat a few times knowing that people in the cinema could hear their booming laugh even though the film itseld wasn't being funny.

Anyway I've just come back from town where I got some food and nipped into Waterstones to get a Java book for my course... however as we saw yesterday this book was too good to miss.... but by god how I love Meerkat Manor!  Anyway there is a lot of Java to be cracking on with and little Half-Life 2 to be playing! (unlike last night)

After numerous days (which also rhymes with Numa Numa 'Ey!) of not updating Livejournal and tinkering with the journal settings. I've decided to conform with my old style rather than this new one! Yeah I can start every post with 'Davie and the...' but that'd be no fun! As I can see- there are 4 major catergories of my livejournal:

The Katy Bunny Years - When Katy Bunny introduced us to LJ... It was Me, Steve (totally49 ),  Lewis lew_v1 ) and her conquering Hope Valley College (and the interwebs) with our journals

The Early Tapton Years - Mark (axeman2002 ) joined and we lost Katy as we started Sixth Form! Usually posts were dull and would consist of my arguing about how long the walk is to school

The Later Tapton Years - My LJ Prime! My day to day routines were no longer described that often in LJ but instead there were more anecdotes about finding waffles, christmas waffles and Mr Gee's! Also came a surge of journals from people we knew!!

The Uni Years - After tapton I really couldn't be bothered to update so much because there was never anything interesting to discuss! I started using my titles and if I was really unimaginative a post would consist of just a YouTube video!

Now, none of our personal friends post anymore! It's just Myself and Steve for the win!
Mark Teddy, Kev, Shula, Emma and Han just don't update anymore! Both Joe and Kev have decided to stop updating theirs! If you ask me, it was kind of silly! Both their journals were ones I enjoyed reading and the same goes for those who didn't decide to stop updating forever! These are the people who I really would have loved to see more of throughout the year but haven't been able to because of distance. Because of distance I feel as if I've lost a some friendship with these people! Now I'm even further away and it's harder for me to stay up to date with people! Heck! People can do what they want- these are just my opinions which I write in my journal.

So there's only two days left before I leave to America and I've started packing all my belongings! It's been a weird week and although I've had fun saying goodbye to people (and missed out on saying goodbye to even more people) I can be rest assured that I have the interwebs to keep in touch with people. Everybody has changed over the past year and I've liked that change! ...well for most people anyway and I'm gonna miss the Sheffield crew especially who I'm used to seeing most days! Including Teh Steve (totally49 ), Lewis, Luke, Teh Gibbo and Dwyre, Aaron, K, Adam, Stenonian and even Spike! We've had much fun bowling and cinema-ing... and even the odd lazerquest now and again! Tis a shame I never really got to see much of the away peeps :(

So... this is like a movie we made last year! Beautiful! Starring Me as the Canadian Mountie (Anthony Orchin), Steve (totally49) as the asian murder victim (Jon Pope) and Mark axeman2002) as Waining (Ben Stone)!

So... I said I'd give up livejournal for lent and I did such a thing! (Well I only told Steve... totally49 and I told Mark axeman2002 not that long ago I guess...) I actually went way past lent... turns out I had no concept of when exactly lent was... nevertheless I survived 40 days and 40 nights without having to post anything on LiveJournal! But here I am! (With my hat) back up ready to post about various things!.

Only one more exam left (wow... I remember posting not that long ago about how I was just settling in to Uni) which is math... and seeing how math isn't my favourite subject it means I'll have to do some harder revision (that said... this is pretty simple stuff!) but nevertheless this semester has been pretty short... sometimes hectic but most of all... ok!

If you look to your left you'll see Adam wearing a Stargate Atlantis *pukes* Tee shirt (aaron's) because he lost bowling... and that was his forfit! What a silly silly boy!

So... the other day me, Luke and Lew (lew_v1) were having a Wokmania lunch when Luke said that I should get some kind of pet.... joking around for a while (and learning what a chinchilla was) we decided to go check out the pet shop. (The one on the moore... can't remember what it's called!)

Unfortunately they had no chinchillas and even if they did they would have cost me £75 so one of those would have been out of the question... we moved on to rats and apparently they need massive cages so they were also out of the question... they also had no Chipmunks and even though they needed a massive cage it would have been worth it!

So lastly we moved onto hamsters and came ccross the Dwarf Hamster cages. Two babies hamsters were sleeping in the corner and the other one was trying to gnaw it's way out of the cage so we took a look at that one!.

Needless to say, we picked up that one and the "Astro 2" cage (Astro 3 was there but that was just too big!) and carted it home to show Kinnear (my flat-mate) All was good and I christened her Shakira! Alas I came home for the day so whether or not she's in good hands with Kinnear is anybodies guess!

So i've been having the busiest week in the history of doing stuff... and I thought I'd get it easy after last weeks assignments and interviews we had! I can't really complain because most of the week has generally been busy hanging around with people and doing stuff.

Monday (after the longest day at University all week- including a progress check as boring as sin) saw the very first Poker Night where we played for money (a £5 buy in). We got a few first-timers as well including Lewis (lew_v1) (who came 4th- very close with me until Adam told him to go all in) and David Stenton who was the first out.

Luckily for me I came third and won my money back however I coulda come first (K) or second (Adam and Phil) and won some profit (even if Adam only won £2.50). Afterwards Lewis made us (well... me because he fell asleep) watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I chose the episode that had John Ritter in! (because John Ritter rocks!).

Tuesday was a pretty funky day because I got to finally visit Noodle Inn (much to Adam's recommendation) so Me, himself, Steve (totally49) and Aaron took off sometime during the night. I had Chicken and Noodles and it managed to fill me up no problem! Steve had Crispy Pork! and we imagined what K would have been like if he were there. We were pretty much the only non-Asians there so I'm guessin' not many people know of it's existence even though it was pretty packed!.

Afterwards, Me, Steve and Aaron came back to my flat and (this was about 8pm) and in a show of geeky-ness... (mainly driven by the fact it was the last Stargate episode ever... ugh Stargate) we talked about sci-fi and tv shows/Indiana Jones until the epic time of 3 o'clock in the morning.

The very next day... myself and Steve trekked down to town where I had a Simon Andrews lecture sometime in the early morning (not too early to be fair!) and due to Lewis not wanting to go home early we lingered around afterwards in the hope that Steve would call. After grabbin' a Subway we went to Centertainment and decided to have a couple of games of bowling (I came second in the first round and last in the second) but it was Lewis that made the comeback from third in the first round and first in the last!.

Afterwards we went to see Norbit because there was nothing else on..... *sigh*.... but I did convice Aaron to have a Core Sunday so that's a win for me! I reckon Steve will be the next one due to the fact that he was going to get one last time and they're so darn tasty!

So it's been a real long time since I last updated but this going to be a quickie! I've settled in with the Kinnear and we're doing pretty well in our new apartment! We've touched up and painted some of the walls (8) with a little help from our friends (8) (totally49) and I took liberty in setting up all the furniture on Saturday! All in all rather spiffing! I've hooked up my webcam and it seems to be working fine so I'm sure I'll post some kind of tour/new video blog soon! Look forward to that and more updates soon!

So yeah... I realised I had done something exciting this past week... and going to Pizza Hut is not exciting! (No that's a lie, it's always exciting!) but I did get my regular late night visit from Mr Hayden which Mark (axeman2002) reminded me of!

Besides that- next week (Probably Wednesday or Thursday) I move in with Alex which is pretty exciting as far as things go! I'll be sure to take photos so you can admire our very own living room and our very own kitchen and all that jazz. You can tell Adam didn't really care...

Me: No... Good for you!

Generally things are going pretty well! Although we haven't got our final results for this semester, Me, Adam and Lewis (lew_v1) have all passed with merit (except on one assignment for BPA... we were 2 points off!) so I'm proud of myself for once.
