So after looking forward to seeing Made of Honour all week despite the fact that it got like a crummy 4.5 on imdb we ended up seeing Iron Man (which we had planned to see anyway) and it was generally ok! A little bit of a cheese fest but Robert Downey Jr is a rather class act and he really makes me wanna put on 'A Scanner Darkly' even though I really can't handle a deep film today!
I don't see why guys can't go together to see films like Made of Honour?! Does it come off as gay if we all sit in a dark room and watch a movie that has some kind of romantic plot in it? It's not like watching Patrick Dempsey makes me want to snog the guy who is sat next to me! I like Patrick as of late... with every episode of Grey's Anatomy I watch as well as seeing Enchanted I can't help but thinking 'yeah he's a good actor' So forgive me if I want to see this movie!
Iron Man had one thing that Made of Honour probably wouldn't have... (as well as guns, superheroes, gwyneth paltrow, cheesy stan lee cameos) and that's a new Indy trailer! Which was rather exciting despite just being a mish-mash of random clips! I can't help but feel excited that this film, which I have been looking forward to for the past five years (ever since I told Alex Hemsley that they were gonna make a fourth movie in Y10 Maths) is out in twenty days! Twenty days! with sleep that's like two weeks! and with all the time eating food that's like 10 days! Weekends of course make it like 6 days! Not to mention the time I'm gonna be playing GTA... that's like 3 days away! and of course showering... gonna feel about 20 minutes away!

New Year would usually see myself and Steve (
totally49) watching various TV shows and playing video games until the New Year passed when we would look at each other 5 minutes late and say 'oh yeah I forgot... Happy New Year'... (with the exception of the time we went to Souter's for new year and watched Ian pwn on Dance Dance Revolution) Being a gazillion miles away means that isn't gonna happen this year so I apologise in advance if I don't turn up at your door.
Anyways I was in the shower trying to think of a a few 'best of's' I could put on here that really defined 2007... I couldn't really think of many so maybe I'll have another shower and think of some more.

Best Song of 2007

Shine - Take That
I've been an absolute spastic for this song and whenever I hear it I feel the urge to jump around and dance all happy and shiny. Take That have been my guilty pleasure and I'm sure they'll continue to be through to 2008.
Other songs that have been 'eeee awesome'
Same Mistake - James Blunt
Whistle For The Choir - The Fratellis
Elevate Myself - Grandaddy
Against All Odds - The Postal Service
I know the latter was released in 2004 however it was only discovered when my friend Alex sent it to me this year and ever since myself and Steve lurved it.
Best Album of 2007

All The Lost Souls - James Blunt
It's only been three months since this album was released but I am deepy in love with every song on it. It got a lot of stick from people but I personally don't have a problem with it... and neither does Dwyre! It's a shame he isn't touring near anywhere I am... i'll take that as a sign Mr Blunt!
Other rockin' albums
Another Side - John Barrowman (booyah!)
Twelve Stops and Home - The Feeling
Back To Black - Amy Winehouse
Beautiful World - Take That

Best Movie of 2007

Stardust
This movie rocked, I saw it a whopping three times in the cinema (as I went with three different groups of people) and enjoyed it everytime. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me feel jubilant and ineffible. Plus Rupert Everett was in it! It's funny and gay

Best Tv Show of 2007

Brothers & Sisters
Every episode of Brothers & Sisters was like a movie packed into 45 minutes and it was bee-you-ti-full! Some episodes made me awfully happy where as some episodes made the feel the opposite. I like that! It makes a nice change from all the action and sci-fi
Tv Classsss
The Big Bang Theory
The Sarah Silverman Program
The second half of Lost
Boston Legal
Best Documentary Tv in 2007

Meerkat Manor
You know how lame you are when you have a 'Best Documentary' section on your website... but these needed to go somewhere. I fsckin' love Meerkat Manor! For a solid thirty minutes I have the biggest smile on my face (unless something goes horribly wrong in the manor :( )
Only one other documentary style tv show I loved in 2007 and that was 'Long Way Down' which just plain rawked!
Finally, Best Joke about a microwave 2007

I was going to do the best videogame of 2007 but I really couldn't decide and I desperately didn't want to choose Bioshock. 2007 was teh funz for me, I hope it was for you too! However I look forward to all the wonders of 2008 although tomorrow is going to be no different from today.

Anyway as Luke was coming back from University he decided to postpone our regular cinema trip which would occur on Friday to Saturday... alas... a very dull and java related Friday I had! (I did do laundry though!!! )
Nevertheless I met up with the previously mentioned along with Kinnear, Steve (
Eventually we ended up seeing Death at a Funeral which was good... although perhaps Ian and Kinnear enjoyed it far more than they should have! I slid down in my seat a few times knowing that people in the cinema could hear their booming laugh even though the film itseld wasn't being funny.
Anyway I've just come back from town where I got some food and nipped into Waterstones to get a Java book for my course... however as we saw yesterday this book was too good to miss.... but by god how I love Meerkat Manor! Anyway there is a lot of Java to be cracking on with and little Half-Life 2 to be playing! (unlike last night)
EDIT: so yeah the picture is all messed up and is out of place on my livejournal but you're gonna have to deal with it!. I can't be bothered to move it around the post!

Jason Lee - you're so cool!
You know you're a geek when you play House of the dead 3 with both the shotguns however as usual- my arms will start to ache after the first boss and I have to resort to shouting "reload me!" to Mark or Souter. Shortly after the arcade we went down to pizza hut where we met (dun dun, more lj people!) Steve (
No video post today and I've decided things would be a lot easier if I had some kind of schedule towards them. So expect to see a video post every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday!

A few hours later, Mark (After waking up and seeing a Mark in the other bed we decided to head over to the cinema to watch The Wicker Man with our friend, Nicolas Cage. (and I knew that guy in the bar at the end is the guy who plays Harry Osborn in Spiderman! I just couldn't put my finger on it) Anyway, the film was very good and Nicolas Cage is pretty cool as always (This time he even has a go at some school kids for putting a crow inside a desk). We also got pick-n-mix, a maxibon and an orange to eat during the film!

So yesterday me and Steve (As tradition has it- we always go to the arcade before or after a movie just to have a game of Time Crisis (this time we played no.4), DDR or the grabbing machines. We decided to play a game of "Deal or No Deal" which was entertaining (we didn't quite understand it but we didn't win either so I don't think it matters!)
Today has been a mix of getting up late, making a Sheperds pie (not to be confused with Shepard's pie, the pie that Shepard makes in FireFly) and watching/drooling over Battelstar Galactica (looks forward to October very muchly!). I also got an e-myspace mail from Anna Nalick telling me you can buy bracelets (male and female) made out of famous musicians guitar strings such as Counting Crows, Death Cab For Cutie, Goo Goo Dolls, Bob Weir and many more (some peeps I haven't heard of) so I decided to check out how much it'd cost me to buy a bracelet made from Peter Frampton's used guitar strings and it was a whopping $250! Ouch! (To be fair, I wouldn't want Peter Frampton's guitar strings anyway!)- Mood:
